Tips for the crew and instructor
Classroom Session: Introduction to rescue diver concepts, safety procedures, and emergency protocols. You will learn about common problems and their solutions, emergency equipment, and how to manage emergency situations. Confined Water Session: Practice essential rescue skills and techniques in a controlled environment. Skills include self-rescue, recognizing diver stress, emergency management, and specific rescue techniques.
Open Water Dive 1: Perform a rescue scenario involving a panicked diver. Learn to approach, calm, and assist a diver in distress. Debriefing: Review the scenario, discuss techniques, and address any challenges. Open Water Dive 2: Conduct a rescue scenario involving an unresponsive diver underwater. Focus on locating, surfacing, and providing in-water rescue breathing. Open Water Dive 3: Execute a final comprehensive rescue scenario, combining multiple skills and techniques such as surfacing an unresponsive diver, providing in-water rescue breathing, and conducting an emergency exit. Debriefing: Final review and assessment of skills learned throughout the course. Discuss overall performance and areas for improvement.
